Where do we start? Jill and I met during the summer prior to her freshmen year at Boise State University (www.broncosports.com). I actually dated her friend Angie at the time and over the next couple years after that relationship ended Jill and I remained friends, we hung out on occasion and after awhile we became closer. Even though we weren’t officially dating for a couple years, Jill and I always seemed to click when were together hanging out with our families and friends. After my career was over at Boise State in 1994’ Jill and I worked together at Café Ole restaurant in Boise, and poured many a Margarita during our tenure together. Through our time there and dating on a regular basis we became closer and closer over the next couple years up until the fall of 1998’ when I got down on a knee in front of her friends, and asked her to be my companion forever.

Over the course of the next year, we planned the wedding, and set down plans for buying a house while starting the infamous FARM, with Onyx (R.I.P.), a beautiful jet black cat that was somewhat neurotic at times. He was an awesome cat who died just before Jill and I we’re to be married. But fear not, the farm was just getting started (stay tuned).

The first week of October 1999 was one to remember. Jill and I found a nice townhouse in Southeast Boise and we closed our loan and moved in not three days before our wedding day. Friday, October 8th was a beautiful Boise evening. It was abnormally warm (80 degrees), and the venue was perfect for our union. The reception was a fun finale to a short (maybe the shortest of all-time) ceremony. Following the wedding, we honeymooned in Mexico on a cruise down the Mexican Rivera.

Then it was back to the real world. Not too long after we returned, we got the farm rolling again with the adoption of Simba (aka - Jeckyl & Hyde) and Nala (aka – weirdo). These two cats started out as friends but as many know, they now despise each other.

One thing about being married to the former Jill Zrno, is you better be able to meet a lot of people because she knows just about everyone in Boise. Jill’s nickname around close friends is “the mayor’. Born in Boise, she graduated from Centennial High School (Class of 92’), and then went on to graduate from Boise State University (class of 97’). Jill is a “social butterfly” who is usually the point person when planning outings and evenings with friends and family. She was a BSU Mainline Dancer during her college years and went on to coach the Bishop Kelly High dance team as well as the Timberline High dancers up until early 2003’. Jill has worked for Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals for over 5 years and has won various awards throughout her career with Ortho-McNeil.

Kerry came to Boise in 1990 on a football/track scholarship at Boise State University. Through the course of his career he set many school records and was recognized nationally in both football and track. Still holding the school 100m dash record (10.21), and multiple kick return records, his name has been in the news lately (2003), as a Bronco player is threatening one of his school records. On the track, after multiple school records and various trips to the NCAA Championships (including one in Boise in 1994), Kerry ended his career as argubably the fastest athlete in Boise State School History. Kerry’s career started at MirconPC selling PCs and services directly to customers, then jumped on a few other opportunities in other industries, thus returning to Micron before being laid off as the tech boom fizzed out. He then returned to school in 2002 and finished his undergraduate degree in December of 2002’. . Now employed by a tech firm in Boise, Kerry gets to be the tech nerd he’s always been in selling various services to medium sized companies in the Treasure Valley.

In early 2001’, Jill and I bought a house in the historic district of Boise, dubbed “The North End”. Just 30 miles south of Bogus Basin ski resort these historic homes are all very unique and quaint, and virtually walking distance to beautiful downtown Boise.

Not long after we moved in, we added to the farm two knuckleheads, otherwise known as Kobe and Jordan. We adopted these two beautiful Golden Retrievers from a Golden retriever rescue in Utah. Loving, fun and a whole bunch of a crazyiness sums up these two. Jill had never owned dogs in her life, but you wouldn’t have known it. The dogs have been wonderful additions to the household.

In late June 2003, we were pleased to find out that Jill was pregnant with our first child. Baby Lawyer is due Feburary 22nd, 2004. Already nicknamed “red” by his/her aunts, uncle’s, and grandparents, we are eagerly looking forward to his/her Birth Day!

Not long after we learned of our pregnancy, the Lawyer Family was dealt a devastating blow. My father, the professor, and my best friend left us on July 15th, 2003. The toughest day of my life was also the happiest day on July 15th as on that day, Jill and I first saw our baby’s heartbeat, and David Norman Lawyer Jr. left us.

His memory will live on forever. I have dedicated a page (DNL Jr )on this web page to the memory of David Lawyer, which includes pictures of a GREAT MAN who left us all far to early. He was loved by many, and lived every day to the fullest. He was definitely too young to leave us, but I am glad I had him for 30 awesome years. I love you Daddy, and I think about you every day. “Each one.. Teach one”
